Our History
Rita’s Recovery Room was established with the goal of becoming a residential housing facility that assists victims of domestic violence specifically women with male children. The mission of Rita’s Recovery Room is to help stop domestic violence and reduce the effect of abuse in families, schools, and communities. The mission will be executed through crisis intervention, direct support, including counseling and social services, and community involvement.
Rita’s Recovery Room was founded in 2008 by Dr.Rita Williams, a survivor of domestic violence. Realizing that domestic violence continues to be the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 to 44 , our mission is of the utmost importance. Dr Williams passed away in May 2021. Her children, Kristal and Anthony Adams, are diligently working to ensure that their mother’s vision is fulfilled. We truly believe that through our efforts we will assist women to become ALL that they are uniquely created to be.
